Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for greeting guests, arranging for prompt seating, and for ensuring guests feel welcome and comfortable. The incumbent will also perform all sales transactions.

  1. Provide information on all aspects of the Hard Rock Hotel's services and facilities for guests.
  2. Greet guests and arranges for seating; monitors room atmosphere.
  3. Quote accurate waiting times and handles guest waiting lists or reservations in accordance with established procedures.
  4. Answer phones according to established procedures
  5. Communicate with co-workers and supervisor to ensure quality service.
  6. Responsible for the pick up, count down, and return of the cash bank from miscellaneous count.
  7. Responsible for opening register, preparing and completing all paperwork for assigned outlet in an organized manner.
  8. In front of house areas: greets guests on arrival, escorts guest to table, and asks guests about their experience to determine customer satisfaction before completing sales transactions.
  9. Maintains accurate cash balance and handles money in a secure manner according to established standards.
  10. Handles forms and equipment necessary to complete settlement of credit cards, coupons, complimentaries, Backstage Pass transactions, and room charges.
  11. Responsible for the security and accuracy of assigned bank and is accountable for any and all overages and shortages.
  12. Meets sales goals for retail sales.
  13. Must be physically present at work, in assigned work station, in order to perform all functions required of the position.


Must have ability to:

  • Communicate effectively with customers as well as co-workers.
  • Document and comprehend all reservations, inputs data into Open Table reservation system.
  • Frequently checks and maintains Pink Taco Host email account.
  • Stand throughout an eight-to-ten hour shift.
  • Move effectively and efficiently throughout the restaurant.
  • Lift up to 15 pounds so as to carry stacks of menus or help to bus tables as necessary.
  • Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of smoke, noise and crowds the severity of which depends upon customer volume.
  • Must be able to use a cash register.
  • Must be able to read, see, and write so as to read ticket totals, total up credit vouchers, log checks, etc.
  • Must be able to bend so as to restock needed materials, retrieve dropped items, etc.


InfoGenesis P.O.S. System, Open Table reservation system, Microsoft Office applications, computers, credit card machines, and calculator.


Incumbent must have basic mathematical skills, must have the ability to handle money and balance bank at end of shift. Incumbent must also have the ability to communicate effectively with customers, co workers, and superiors. The skills and abilities necessary for effective performance within this position are typically acquired through one year customer service experience. Prior restaurant experience is helpful.
